ok busy rehearsals and shopping for the inter jc pageant which is NEXT SATURDAY. becoming really tired from it all and putting in a lot of hard work, so.. if you are my great friend who reads my blog, come down to support me and vote for me online! ;D the website may not be functioning properly yet but here it is anyway
http://www.playnetearth.com/interjcpageant2008/
try not to laugh at my pic la.. and vote for me still even if u may think the other contestants look better! thank u thank u (x
tickets are going at 20 per pax @ The Arena, 5th Jan 2008 and 2 free drink coupons so have fun!
well anyway, lost my hp and wallet at bugis yesterday =(
i went into the toilet to change into my new jeans and feeling happy lol like being really high even though we had just had a long day rehearsing. i was like "woohoo let's go!" when i got out and then after walking away for a minute i went "oh fuck, wait!". ran back to check and my hp and wallet was alr gone from the top of the toilet paper box where i had left them..
feel so handicapped without a hp and wallet and concession, YES ESPECIALLY CONCESSION. there was this fucker bus driver today.
"where are u going"
"Pasir Ris MRT"
"$1.30"
(i put in $1.00) "sry i only got this much."
"30 cents more."
"hey i'm actually a student but i just lost my ezlink card.. "
(i scrambled and found 10 cents more to put in)
"ah so? 20 cents more."
"i've only got a ten note."
"so go ask other ppl la."
imagine hiro nakamura with a stiff upper lip and his nose in the air and TADAHH, u get a fucker fatass bus driver. no offense girls, i think that hiro nakamura is pretty cute in heroes too. its just that this bus driver had a different special ability: count. i gotta thank him for highlighting to me my outstanding amout because i have never gone to school and never learnt how to count the difference between $1.30 and $1.00.
pardon me if i may seem petty for i know so too, picking on a poor fatass bus driver. well.. it's just one of those days i entitle myself to self centredness and a lack of empathy. i'm off to defend him from external threats soon so perhaps he'll be nicer when i'm bald =)

Sports to not do when wearing boxers:
1. Cycling
2. Soccer
3. Jogging
for the first two, jewels were hurt before or could have been hurt real bad, learning from recent experiences. as for jogging, i'm sure u dont want it to bounce along with you.
advice: do opt for support =)

Adventures in Chiang Mai Part 3
The Climbing

The Crazy Horse Buttress, the name of the crag.
The temperate conditions were sweet as there were no feeling of all the grime and sweat unlike in batu caves. Philip said it actually felt like climbing in europe.
that first climbing day, the familiar feeling of uncertainty must have crept up behind everyone. my first time- i was asking kelly if a move was alright or what could be held. it took a few falls and grappling on Two Drops to finally realise that in natural rock climbing, anything is possible! now as a year 2 though, it was a different feeling of uncertainty, we had all become nua so we're just uncertain just HOW NUA we have become. lol.
anyway, these are the routes i did:
Into the Sun(6a) -DICY
Crazy Hot(6b) - nicely pumpy
Diarrhoea(6b) - stalactites, overhang, slab.
Reindeer Request(6a) - out of the box
Bamboo Finders(6b) - boulder start, STEAM =D
Backburners(6a+) - crimp crimp crimp =D
Shining Path(6b) - juggy but taxing, 3 collinear-crosshanded crux. =D
Mumipeiko(6b) - INSANE start.
Surreality/Everlasting(6a) - cave route.
Fire in The Minds(6a) - tricky sit in.
Blood, Love, Steel(6c) - nice and technical =D
lucky for us, they had recently bolted up a route IN A CAVE. sounds cool right? not knowing where it was, me and philip explored the cave through a small hole in the crag armed with torchlights. shortly after slithering down and negotiating a low ceiling, we entered a chamber with the only light coming from a hole at the top. it was beautiful to imagine how nature could have sculpted such a chamber that we could explore.
on the route, there is complete silence unlike when outside and hearing other people talking and encouraging. there would be that deafening silence, a ringing sensation, interrupted once in a while by the clattering of quickdraws or a clumsy step. i wish Singapore had such nice places! 'surreal' was the description of the experience by kelly. i'd agree with that, but it sounds too nice for the long and draggy route so i prefer to call it 'everlasting' just so it still sounds nice =) haha.

Crazy Hot(6b)
the route is as fucked up as i look in this pic. had very hidden hand holds so had to be very persistent.
Philip: "what is the grade of the route you're doing."
Son(thai name): "this is Crazy Hot, last time 6a, now 6b."
Philip: "why?"
Son(thai name): "stalactite drop."
LOL. that cracked me up while i was on Into the Sun because of the thai guy's funny accent and the way he said it matter-of-factly. like stalactites dropped all the time! well at least in singapore it doesn't.

natural climbing is really a personal journey where discoveries differ from people to people. i've gained a greater respect for falling and more able to understand the fear experienced by many other climbers, no longer that garang boy who will just chiong and not care about falling. like kelvin writes about me, i feel it is overcoming that fear while being pumped at a crux and still remaining composed, then following on to finish the route, that really makes you high on satisfaction. =) but then i'd still love to fall 8m inverted without sustaining a scratch like michelle because i can imagine it's bloody fun! =p si ying belayed michelle for that fall and she actually wished they swopped places too! haha. cool and HIGH girl. jingwen called the move "mission impossible". lol.
there were still so many crags we had not yet explored and we had to go alr. if possible, i definitely wanna go back there again.
i think we all enjoyed this trip a lot because of the great company we all had- including Mr Tan and Ms Chang, Phil and Kel, YEAR 1s lol cool stuff and of course the year 2s who went (we know we're cool alr) ;) kop kum-KARP! =)

Adventures in Chiang Mai Part 2
My Roommate: Kelvin
the bloody comedian. made up so many stupid jokes while we were confined to our four walls. he changed the thai greeting for "good morning" from sawadee thon chal to "sawadee GONG chai" cos it was more fun to say LOL. also, song(3rd diao) stands for "two" in thai and he cracked si ying up by randomly saying, " let me play you a songgg" lol. si ying was laughing like my mad cousin in primary school after we kept repeating the word songgg to her XD haha except for the time u fucking unlock the toilet door while i was using it $%#@, great time bunking up with u man.
The Eateries
For the first few days we had to put up with long meals because many of the restaurants could not cope with the large size of our club and the diverisity of our orders. some of them had pool tables to occupy our time though so we couldn't really complain =D the worst however had to be this place called "FISH n CHIPS". we spent more than 2h there and their fish and chips had just fish the size of my fist which tasted like shit and fries which weren't any more outstanding than the fish. after the first few days we started to find larger restaurants and even split up so we could have faster meals. now there was this interesting cafe we went to on the 5th night.
It was a bar like atmosphere then we suddenly saw balloons being hung up to obscure what's printed on a piece of paper on the wall. it read: "Blow Job 150baht". bel asked the bargirl what it was and she started laughing like a hyena den followed to ask him "u want?" with a flirty tone LOL.
3rd part will come out as soon as i get more pics of the crag and stuff =)

Adventures in Chiang Mai
Temperature: 10-20 degree celcius
Humidity: very low
Season: dry
Roads: freakin dusty
People: very friendly
Language: fun to speak!
Our Budget Flight
the seats were alright but the leg space was really cramped! tall people should be given bigger spaces.. hehe. it was cool when the pilot flew down into the clouds only to pull back up! twice in fact. he was like giving us a roller coaster ride nearing the CM Airport lol. i think he did it due to poor visibility anw.
Our Guesthouse: CM Bluehouse

the place was just like any other shophouse in a whole stretch of similar looking structures just that it had a blue exterior. upon entry however, it seemed nothing like the old or abandoned shops around it just look at those pictures. ok la the room may look simple but its more than is required for budget travelers like us. After all, the simply furnished room meant we had lots of floor space to dump our equipment and dirty clothes wherever we wanted =p i also think breakfast here beats any buffet breakfast u can get in a 5-star hotel. the garden ambience and laquered wooden tables gave me a very "nature boy" feel to sort of complete the "one with nature" state-of-mind experienced when on the natural rock. ZEN MAN. lol =D
shall write up to here for now.. more about chaing mai and the climbing experiences when i return! cya around guys =)
